I saw the human rights leader Van Jones speak at the Institue of Noetic Science’s Consciousness and Healing conference last July. He gave an amazing speech describing his experience journeying into the belly of the World Economic Forum where economic and political leaders make decisions that have a global impact.

Jones was pretty blunt in describing how these leaders are surprisingly clueless about how to approach the global dilemmas facing humanity, and that they need an engaged electorate to help collaborate and develop solutions. It was a very emotional and catalyzing speech.

This is an excerpt from Jones’ speech where he describes why activists need to do inner work in order to develop tolerance and be more effective at creating dialogue with those who either disagree or can’t comprehend the activist’s perspective. This needs to be done by building alliances with those who are not necessarily of ‘like mind.’

The clip is from ShiftInAction.com which is an online community for the Institute of Noetic Science. They are hosting a teleseminar with Van Jones tomorrow November 9th at 5:00 p.m. (Pacific).

My husband Kent and I did a brief interview with Jones as well as with 9 other speakers at the conference.
