Preventative Health Care Using Integrative Medicine
Posted by Jen under Vlog , Spirituality , VideobloggingWeek2007 , HealingWe met Dr. Ann Haiden, DO at Cook Camp in San Francisco. Ann’s training is similar to a MD, but with extra training in musculoskeletal issues and manipulation. She approaches health by addressing the root causes of problems with an emphasis on nutrition and self-care. In this videoblog she describes a sensible progressive approach to medicine.
Integrative medicine combines the use of mainstream medicine with complementary alternative approaches.
Dr. Ann Haiden has a private practice in Kentfield, CA.
If you’re interested in learning more about preventative approaches to health check out Dr. Mercola’s health blog.
This is our fourth post for Videoblogging Week 2007.

Loved this. Thanks! Our health “system” is truly a failure for many people, including me. I wish there were more people like Dr. Haiden.

A few years ago, I was having some major stomach problems (maybe Jen already knows this?) and had about $10k worth of tests done. Nothing came up, and when an incredibly stressful relationship ended, my symptoms vanished. I wish I’d had a Dr. Haiden then to give me some perspective.

How inspiring. Traditional medicine cured me of cancer as well, and despite my apparent “basically good” health, I’m always afraid I’ll end up in the situation she speaks of before too much longer - “desparation”. Hopefully by the time I reach that place there will be more people like her accessible, so that I dont have to become an MD. Because I dont think thats the way I can best serve the world… Anyways, Thanks for all these thought-provoking pieces.

Do you outsource your graphic work for your website? I like them and would be interested in knowing who did yours! I’m in the process of designing my template for my new blog but having a hard time. Looking to pay someone to help.
