Happiness not dependent on changing conditions. Yes.
I just enjoy the days I can make the water stop crashing. Being able to look into it is the icing on the meditation cake.

Lovely video. But why do you include Tibetan teachers along with Jack? I would send this out to all my friends except they are dubious about the Dalai Lama as the poster child for all things Buddhist.

I watched this vlog early this morning before leaving for a day of teaching yoga classes here in Los Angeles. When i got in the car to head home this afternoon, I heard the news about the horrific shooting spree in my home-state of Virginia. Always a wise and eloquent spritual teacher, Jack Kornfield’s words rang as solace in my head as the heartbreaking details emerged. I sit on my meditation cushion tonight with a deep sadness, a deep gratitude, and for the first time ever, a strong feeling of connection between the healing quiet i find in my own mind and the healing quiet the world is in such desperate need of. I find myself, truly, sitting for the benefit of all beings.

This is a very beautiful video. I love how Jack Kornfield describes meditation as one of the most radical things we can do in the world, and how he indicates that the point of meditation is to be present to the spaciousness of life. I watched and listened more than once because Jack’s words touch a deep place in me. His words are here accompanied by beautiful photography and music. And whenever I see the Dalai Lama, who is such an example himself of nonjudgmental awareness, my heart leaps just a bit. Thank you!

Thank you all for sharing your diverse perspectives and encouraging comments.
Sasha, Your compassionate sharing of how meditation practice has enabled you to find inner peace and a sense of connection is appreciated.
Uttama,
I believe that each person’s evolutionary path is very different so I don’t like to advocate for any exclusive form of healing or style of meditation practice.
Our intention was to post 6 videos about different approaches to inner peace/healing in an effort to document the many possibilities. We chose the picture of the Dalai Lama because we assumed he is someone that many people associate him with meditation.

Uttama, I’m amazed and surprised that someone would have a prejudice against the Dalai Lama. (perplexed)

Thank you for putting out a site with the focus of inner strengthening.
The internet is a great tool for life when used in this manor. As opposed to when it is used as a source of entertainment.

Such a lovely being, as we all are. Whats also great about Jack is his gentle simplicity. I find it easy to get caught up in thinking-he makes it all sound so easy…..to be still.
Inspiring.
